In episode 36, I described the fight or flight response and how dopamine, epinephrine and cortisol, among other neurotransmitters can result in the fight or flight response.
But stress can trigger a similar response in the brain and body, albeit not quite as potently. Stress can suppress immune function and digestion, give you a certain amount of tunnel vision, dread and anxiety, etc. And over time, stress can negatively effect your ability to relax and enjoy life.
